Len some State licenses are easy I hear. How does Connecticut stack up? Easier or harder to pass? Deal with a few American buds, so have a fairly good idea of conditions your side. Knowledgeable people every where in the pest game. Unfortunately lots of "experts" who have minimal training. Spray & pray or baseboard jockeys,.
Nick, thank you for the reply. I had no idea of the conditions over there. Yet, I can tell from some of the things I read on here that there is some technicians over there that are very good. Our General Pest license is actually a hard test. In my state we have a couple companys that are horrible, scam artisit all about the money types but 98% of the rest are decent at least. Some are exceptional.
Len, you might be now. This board suffered a spam attack and basically went quiet, it was put in maintenance mode. No postings. So it's getting the message out that it is up & running again. Always nice to hear from our colleagues from over the pond. Pest Control here different to States. Here we don't have to be licensed, so we have lots of wannabee's,minimum or no training, nickel & diming and low balling. You have EPA, we have European lead directives pushed onto us via EA environment Agency, Then other various government departments. Plethora of Associations, organisations. No overall cohesion. But welcome.
Hello all, I am a longtime wildlife control professional with rodenticide license recently licensed in termite and general pest control. I see most members here are located in the UK. I enjoy wildlife control. Most days it isn't even work. Yet, I find insects even more fascinating. Anyway, I will be browsing here and speak up when I have questions or something to offer. Lenny
Hi all, my name is Alec and I live in Oulton Broad, Suffolk, I work for the largest bird control company in Europe. 99% of my work is bird control, urban & landfill, flying falcons and hawks. I train all our new franchisees up to the LANTRA falconry award which is the only recognised award for falconry at the moment & I train all the new falcons each year. Having said that I still do the usual, rats, mice, fleas, bed-bugs, etc etc If any of you regular pesties want to get into this fast growing natural bird control and want to know more, message me.
