There seems to be alot of fuss elsewhere about moderating.
Just to clarify, we have NO moderators on here. There are a few people with full 'admin' rights, but thats about it.
We welcome free speech, and as this board is only for bonefide pest controllers, there is no need to worry about what 'Joe Public' might think.
The only rule here is contribute or go elsewhere. Given a bit of time and effort, this could be a nice place to discuss issues.
Any improvements or ideas welcome.

No Moderators ~ But 'a few people with Full Admin Rights' ? Ok, so the Hidden Ones aren't called " Mod's " here. What are they? " Rockers " 'No need to worry about Joe Public'. Yet the Trapping board is locked? Why is that, please? Something intrinsicly wrong with traps? 'Contribute or " Go elsewhere " ' ? And, in referance to ye post below; Why aren't people talking? Perhaps because they find themselves locked out of the very section that most interests them? Perhaps they don't like the thought of " A Few People " having the ability to access and edit what ever they may think, without recourse - on a site with " No Moderators " ? Perhaps, like me, they immidiately get a bad feeling when they recognise there's a forum, then a forum within that forum where certain members get to say what they daren't say in front of other members? I've never been able to stomach that approach long, myself. Even tried it on a forum I ran myself once. It soon sickened me and I closed the whole thing as a direct result. Nope. Sorry. I've just spent about three hours looking through the majority of posts on here. I looked back in on the prompting of another member. Seen the same attitude before. Not for me, thanks.

Ditchshitter
Thanks for the feedback, its welcome even though there are some negative comments!
We originally 'locked' some of the boards to prevent them being read by non-pros, but I guess that as we only have genuine pros on here it should not really be necessary. What does everyone think?
The issue was who was joining at the begining, and what would they want to post if they thought that members of the public found their way in here.
The password itself is no great secret, and you can have it on request from anyone already here.
What does everyone think? Should we scrap passwords? I feel another poll coming on, we'll run it until the 7th of jan, and if no-one objects, I'll scrap the passwords.
Comments welcome.

You are quite right John.
This is one of the old messages from the original forum. I do not believe that we can do without moderators now, especially after seeing the damage spammers can do.
There will be some carefull guidelines around moderation, and nobody need fear a heavy handed approach...........
